The library of BGIE is very well equipped with more than 6000 books. It also provides a wide range of magazines, and journals related to the field of education. It has many encyclopedias and dictionaries which the student teachers can use to enhance their understanding of educational concepts or utilize these during their school experience. There is a separate section for Reference Books with good reference collection. The collection is arranged in a classified order in open access. There is a separate book case for ‘New Arrivals’. New arrivals are displayed on special display racks. Library subscribes 10 newspapers in English, Hindi and Punjabi: The Tribune, The Hindustan Times, Times of India, Indian Express, Ajit, Panjabi Tribune, Jag Baani, Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, and Punjab Kesari. There are 5 Newspaper Stands for the display of newspapers. The free magazines and journals received in the library are put on separate periodical display stand. Library is computerized with 04 computers. All are linked through networking. The Library will remain open from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs every working day, for students to be able to make use of its rich knowledge base. Extended library hours and enriched tutoring is provided in the campus whenever government announces CTET, TET, NET examinations. Library supports academic programme offered by the institute as per the curriculum requirement of its users. New books as recommended by teachers will be added in the library from time to time.

Different library related competitions like Book-Mark Making, Book-Jacket Making, Slogan Writing, Reference and Book hunting will be organized from time to time to inculcate reading habits and motivate student teachers to use library resources.

A Book Bank is established for helping needy and economically weaker students to get 4-5 books issued for the full session from this sectio.n and return the same after using. The faculty & students are also encouraged to donate their personal books to start a Book.
