S. H.S. Jawandha was the founder chairman of Bhai Gurdas Technical Education Trust (Regd.). Enthusiastic and ever-ready for liability, he served with dedication in the legal profession at Sangrur. Thereafter, inspired by the cause of professional education and with a vision of building the best possible infrastructure in Sangrur area, he took the initiative and led a group to establish Bhai Gurdas Educational Institutions. If today, Bhai Gurdas Group stands strong and proud, it is because of the foundation that was laid by S. H.S. Jawandha who toiled relentlessly and led by example and showed the way. He was unique, and multi-faceted – a thinker and a doer, balanced yet zestful, supremely pragmatic and affirmative. He never micro-managed and neither was he judgmental. He trusted people and was very approachable. He was highly regarded by one and all, and had remarkable rapport with the teachers and students.
An unimaginable void is what he has left us with – Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions owes a deep debt of gratitude to him.
